Haemato-biochemical Alterations in Canine Rotaviral Enteritis of Dogs and its Management

Background: Rotaviruses cause acute diarrhoea, mostly in young puppies. Rotavirus associated gastroenteritis dog is of great concern not only because their high morbidity and mortality, but became the reason that, they act as potential source zoonotic infection inter-species transmission. There no report on rotavirus from Assam. Therefore, there a need to study haemato-biochemical alterations infected dogs while treating such type clinical cases. Methods: A total 157 faecal blood samples were collected affected with gastroenteritis, registered at Veterinary Clinical Complex, Khanapara, Assam during November, 2020 April, 2021. Diagnosis was done by RNA-PAGE RT-PCR. Haematological canine (CRV) carried out automated haematological cell counter biochemical analysis semi-automated biochemistry analyser using commercial kit. Result: Out samples, 8 found positive for 17 Haemato-biochemical revealed significant increase Hb, PCV, TEC, monocyte, lymphocyte, AST, ALT, BUN creatinine decrease TLC, neutrophil, protein, serum sodium, potassium chloride.
